Re: Throttle Linkage question... (The Money Pit)

Yes, there are 2 holes that seem to be available on the lever arm you are talking about. They seem to be sized for different cable "ball ends" though. Something to think about.
From your picture...

Throttle Linkage question...

I have a 73 AUTO, L-48 car with an Edelbrock Performer intake. I recently added a #1901 Edelbrock Q-Jet replacement to it and kept my stock throttle linkage. My problem is that when I put the pedal...

I appreciate the feedback on your similar engine setup. Yes, the pushrod holes are as you described.

Re: If you have Roller Tip rockers PLEASE READ! (Fevre)

Hey,

I stopped in tonight to ask if anyone had had problems with roller tip rockers interfering with stock valve covers and found THIS instead! I've got a stock L-48 in a '73 with regular...

Temperature sending units in a '73?

After taking the original L-48 heads off my '73 I noticed there were two "temperature sending units", one on each head. In all the excitement I forgot which one came from which side? They both...

Re: what's the best way to get the most air (szercer)

If you've got a 73 or higher car with an operational cold air induction hood, you could "hot wire" the hood solenoid so that it was always open. That would get more cool air into the engine...

Re: How long do you think it will take before the govenment finishes off collector cars? (killain)

Everyone has good points. I do think that eventually we might be taxed to operate "gas burning" cars in an attempt to force us to junk them (10-20 yrs from now?, sooner?)

I think, as well as most...

Re: Odd heads either side (ukvette72)

Interesting,

Without knowing the complete casting #'s... I'm looking in my Corvette "black book" here and I see 3927186 is a 1969/70 350 head for a number of HP rating models (300 - 370 HP!). ...

Re: Commentary on functional replacement heads, casting #3998993... (Paul 75 L82)

Hey Paul,

Good link. Are they talking about 0.400" valve lift when they talk about the heads flowing good up to "0.400""? Guessing. Anyway, that makes me feel better about not worrying about...

Re: Commentary on functional replacement heads, casting #3998993... (gerry72)

Haha!

I agree. I DID keep my originals. Like I said, it was a hairline crack, but was leaving the valve seat at least a 0.5". What kind of repair would you recommend? The machinist said...

Re: Head Bolts??? (Steve Adkins)

Hey!

I agree that a sealant should be used on all threads. If you think about it, an anti-sieze should be used to prevent the bolt from "sticking". The only way a bolt will stick is from rust. ...

Re: What size are head bolts? (Smokehouse69)

Hi,

If your car is a small block (350) then the head bolts are 7/16" - 14.

Commentary on functional replacement heads, casting #3998993...

Hey Guys,

Recently I had pulled my '73 L-48 heads off (casting 3998993) to get them redone. During their visit to the shop the machinist found a crack coming out of the seat of one of the exhaust...

Re: Corvette wave dead, now the Corvette nod???? (Ken's 78)

I usually don't get a wave from a C4 or higher. These may be first time Corvette owners. Older ones I usually do get waves if I wave first. I have to give a "pre-emptive wave" - hahaha! Then it's...

Re: Removing emmision systems to improve performance? (Metal_Wulf)

I think mine was too. I removed the original intake and replaced it with a pre-smog style edelbrock performer intake. This new intake did not have an EGR port in it - so no worries about...
