Mine was shot, leaking through the shaft weep hole...Now new pump and an extra bonus is that the AC belt stopped squeaking...The pump was dripping just enough fluid to land on the AC belt and cause...

I would think that he is talking about a timing belt since he talked about adjusting the timing...mistaking it for a timing chain....

Prob a stupid question: but does it matter when checking the level on an 98 C5 auto trans if the temp is above the 85-122 temp range in the manual besides maybe burning you hands easier???...

Instead of going crazy while installing a new AC belt,I just remove the top stationary idler, slip the AC belt on. Then push down the adjuster tensioner with a wrench and replace the top stationary...
