I'd figured that was a very expensive option, but haven't really looked into it. Are there any modifications that need to be done to make the car legal there (especially since it's not stock)? I'd...

Unique '74 convertible

My job is moving me to Germany, and I don't really want to have this car in storage for years. Unfortunately, it should probably go. I've had it for 8 or 9 years.

It's a black 1974 automatic...

The tires are only a couple of years old, and the wheels were last balanced when they were put on.

Since this doesn't consistently depend on speed, I don't think it's a balance problem. The column...

Vibrating steering column

My steering column will occasionally start vibrating. The wheel itself isn't trying to rotate. It just seems like the column itself is being shaken all on its own. This doesn't seem to happen at very...

After a drive in a C6, my impression was that it felt like my C3 with most of the soul sucked out (but more power). I don't think Corvettes have progressed nearly as much as most people claim on this...

That's wrong. The 84 did not have a 0.29 drag coefficient. The C6 does, and that's about as low as any sports car has gotten. The C4 was more aroung 0.34. And my aero book lists an 82 vette at...

What rpm were you topping out at with the 2.73 gear (in 4th I assume)? It looks like about 5300 rpm from your numbers, but it isn't clear what size tire you were using. If that's about right, you're...

I don't know what gyroscopic effects could do in cars. I've never really seen them discussed, so I'd guess that they're negligible except perhaps to the finer details of the steering feel.

For straightline performance, lighter wheels and tires reduce the effective weight of your car. It is much more accurate to think of it this way than to say you gain effective power.

Anyway, they...

Torque puts you back in your seat. But so does power. In the end, an engine can be rated by either its torque curve or its power curve. Given one, it's very easy to generate the other. They are not...

Yeah, it's stupid for the Z because of its unusual gearing. But in many other cars, it's not unreasonable to be in top gear at that speed. They probably do the same tests for every car, so they're...

I don't think that's true. I haven't driven any Z06s, but the base C6 felt to me like it had much better steering than the base C5. It was still poor though. It's not even as if GM can't make a...
