Mine was mobil 1 with a non-GM additive. I was afraid to go more than a block down the road it made so much noise and cluncked violently. Went back to GM lube and additive, and it was immediately...

Enjoy

I have a '75 L-82 4-speed in Austin that may very well cost me $35K by the time I'm done. I think there are probably plenty of people on this board who have paid $35K for a '75 L-82. One part at a...

I did a little more driving after work. Everything seems OK. At least on my little trip to the corner gas station to feed the hungry monster. I'm still amazed at how well this thing runs, after...

Half shafts were not pulled, and I did mark and re-install the driveshaft (and pinion yoke) in the same place that they came out from.

Cautious Optimism

So after a night to sleep on it, I thought back to all things I changed:

Driveshaft u-joints - Possibility, but I didn't just hammer them in myself, I had a machine shop press them in/out

On the ground

It's definately doing some binding on the ground. With the wheels hanging I never rotated a full rotation, just enough to move the driveshaft to get to all the u-joint bolts.

If I did some...

Binding in rear end

When I would jack up the car with the rear wheels off the ground, there was always a bind in the rear end. I could spin one of the rear wheels part way around and it would hit a tight spot. I...

Update

OK, so how about $350 shipped, including the lexan covers. Or trade for an 80's style flex fit rear bumper, or flex fit front bumper to fit my '75. Other trades and price offers condidered!

Mine was on a quadrajet. The flooding after running one night kept going with a siphon action, and dumped 2 gallons of gas into my oil. On that carb, I pulled the carb, popped the top of it, and...

Check your oil

Check your oil for gas smell. If the carb is flooding, it is not only splashing around the manifold, it's dripping down into the engine. If you so smell gas in the oil, do not run it until you...

The seal on my '75 leaks bad. Are there any tricks to changing it on the car? I have visions of busted knuckles and much cursing.

Nope

I just got mine from Wilcox this week. They are not marked, but it's real easy to do. Just line up the trim piece from your old panel, press it to make some indentions, and drill where it indents....
