Too cold to lower the top?

It's been cold in Maryland for the past week with below freezing temperatures even during the day. Since it hasn't rained (or snowed) and the roads are salt-free, I've been driving the C7 on daily...

Last year at Bloomington Gold, I picked up a 3" drywall screw in the right rear tire. Wasn't sure it had penetrated the tread entirely, so I pulled it out. Bad move, the tire went from 32 to 5 lbs in...

Bill Mitchell's ghost must be rattling its chain now, since all the pictures of Harley Earl show him standing next to midyears. Earl's contribution was the C1. It would be more appropriate to show...

I'll second Jimspeed about Tony. Tony did my C5 to my specs. The handling and tracking is everything I expected.

Thanks for the info Ken. Sounds like GM doesn't want you to change the transmission fluid soon. VW's tiptronic transmision has a similar fluid check where level is measured by overflow thru a tube in...

(1) The A6 and A4 ratios calculated above do not take in account the torque converter ratio, which might be 1.8 to 2.2 at stall.
(2) What are the chances that we will see only one transmission...

You should try the convertible. I am (just) able fit a wheelchair in the trunk of my C5 with the top down. I would carefully measure a convertible C6 trunk or actually try your wife's chair in one at...

I have a feeling that the slave cylinder on the C6 is very similar to the C5 setup. There the slave cylinder is concentric with the torquetube driveshaft. You will have to separate the bell housing...

Re: How do you raise the front of a C5? (AtHomeSoda)

I forget how many turns it took. I did my adjustments on a lift and used the GM reference points in the C5 shop manual as a guide (add 1/2'' to these). These points are specific locations on the...

Re: How do you raise the front of a C5? (AtHomeSoda)

I raised my C5 by about 1/2" front and rear. Stopped the scraping and skid damage. The front is too long and low, the other generations of corvette (I also have a C3) don't scrape. Before raising...

Re: C6 comments by Dave Hill (2 Ag R8Cs)

Yesterday, at Carlisle, I measured the height of the frame rails of a naked C5 chassis at the Kerbeck display. The height is about 20" at the front and rear bumper attachments. This is about the same...

Re: Would it be safe to allow my torque converter to lock up during shifts?? (Godspeed)

Several automatics (Ford is one) do not unlock the torque converter when shifting in the upper gears. Automatics have planetary gear sets so interrupting engine power is not necessary during gear...
