I have a 05 and have had a series of bad batteries within months of getting them new, you are correct when voltage goes so does the weird stuff. I do keep a battery tender on mine and in "R" too....

GM P/N: 15296303, LEAR P/N: L0020248AB03 removed from a parted out seat from 2008 Z06 the seller said seat was working as it should, I have no way to verify this, so sold as is.
