Re: O.K., If I drop the LT5 into the '71 vette instead what are we talking about? (jaymitchell01)

I just hate to have an LT5 and not drop it into anything. I am sure going to give it a shot! Howell Engine Development is taking care of cleaning up the factory harness. I'm probably going to have...

O.K., If I drop the LT5 into the '71 vette instead what are we talking about?

It's a '71 L48 Auto (TH400). I was going to put a '96 LT1 into it and I might put the LT5 into it instead. I already have a Yank 3000 converter that I was going to use. Too much stall? I would...

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (-=Jeff=-)

Yea, the ecm only runs the fuel milage/range stuff on the dash. With the 7747 ecm hooked up that stuff doesn't work anyway. The engine already has all the accessories on it. Must admit the idea of...

Re: Which runners on a LT5 should be used for a direct port setup? (BAM92)

I've been kicking around different brake options. Probably going with Z06 calipers and 13" rotors on the front. Gonna leave the back alone.

Interested in purchasing a 97-98 C5 in Indiana....

I'm looking to purchase a 97-98 Vette with less than 100K miles. Prefer a 6-speed. I can go up to $20K. Please contact via email (josh@groupdekko.net). I'd prefer to purchase one close to me. ...

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (Aaron71771)

Well, the LT5 will be here at the end of June. Arcola Racing Engines in Fort Wayne is going to do the swap. They are going to machine a custom flex plate for it and don't think it will be too bad. ...

Re: Which runners on a LT5 should be used for a direct port setup? (jburnett)

Thanks guys! The LT5 is a go. I'll have it by the end of June! Already got a shop lined up to put it in. Arcola Racing Engines in Fort Wayne is going to do the swap.

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (Greybeard ZR1)

Yes, I've considered the life of the differential. Figure when it blows up it will give me an excuse to drop in a 44 with lower gears. I'm figuring it will last a while as there are people running...

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (vettl83)

Never claimed it would be a ZR1. I am just looking to drop a LT5 into and 84 Corvette and that is what it will be when it is done. The ECM shouldn't pose a major problem as the engine comes with a...

Re: Which runners on a LT5 should be used for a direct port setup? (Ray383)

That's one nasty looking 415! I've been tempted to paint the runners and valve covers black like the Snake Skinners. Guess we will just see. Thanks for the pic!

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (Greybeard ZR1)

I hear what you are saying. The 71 would be wicked with the LT5 but that's the wife's car and it is already getting a modded LT1. Can't have the wife's car be faster than mine, can I? I really...

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (NITROUS JUNKIE)

Wow! I'm not going for quite that much power! I do want to run nitrous, but just a 100-150hp shot. My car came with a TH700R4 so I was thinking of getting a mega-raptor and hooking the LT5 up to...

Re: What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto? (compuvette)

Just shot an email off to LPE (I'm about an hour away) to see what they would charge to set it up. Might just have them do it so that everything works.

What's involved in setting an LT5 up for an auto?

I just picked up an LT5 out of a wrecked 91 ZR1. I am going to drop it into my 84 vette. It's got an auto in it now and I am probably going to leave it that way. What's involved in setting up an...

Re: gauge setup for nitrous installation? (Beach Dude)

A fuel pressure gauge isn't a bad idea. I fuel pressure safety switch is a great idea. It will turn off the nitrous if you're fuel pressure drops below a safe level. What brand of kit did you...

Which runners on a LT5 should be used for a direct port setup?

I'm doing my best to get my hands on an LT5 to drop into my 84. I have a NOS Sportsman Fogger kit in the shop that I am going to put on it before it goes in. Anybody with pictures of their direct...

Re: Stereo install in a '71 C3? (compuvette)

After looking around alittle I figured out the same thing. Just get a spare dash and cut it. Thanks for the advice! I am planning on putting some 6x9's in the back in boxes and 4x6's in the dash. ...

Stereo install in a '71 C3?

I am in the process of restoring my '71 and want to put a decent stereo in it. I do not want to cut any holes in it so I want to use a shaft style deck. Not a whole lot of them around. Any...

Re: (scorp508)

Didn't mean to cause an issue on it, I am just a real safety freak when it comes to fuel pressure. I personally would not trust an L98 pump with that much HP. Heck, the LT1 pump has more flow than...

Re: Can someone clear this up for me (ICULUKN-C5)

Did you ever figure out what you were going to do about the nozzles? Are you sticking with one or are you going direct port?

Re: Direct port system (mshay)

I would love to see some more pics of that manifold. I am going to put a NOS Sportsman fogger on my LT1 (NOS kit# 5088). I have the kit and the manifold is off the engine, just need to get cracking...

Re: (Large Pics) Ain't you got NOS yet? (Nathan Plemons)

Running the NOSzles, huh. Bummer. I have a NOS Sportsman Fogger kit I am going to install on the LT1 going in the wifes car and was wondering where the smart place to put the nozzles would be. ...
