I guess it could be fluid ... but if it was a fluid issue, I would think it would affect most every aspect of the transmission ... not just second and third, and not just down shifting.

I'd...

I've had quite a few high performance cars (Boss 302, 427 vette, ZO6 Vette) ... and I can tell you that breaking at the drag strip is something
you need to get used to. ;)

Re: The oil weight discussion again. (J-Rod)

I posted this very question before ... way too many opinions to go over them
all.

Most like what the General recommends, 5W - 30 Mobil 1. I understand that
the closer the two numbers, the more...

I had a 6 disc Alpine unit installed ... it works through the existing controls,
but does require an adapter ... it was about $350.00 :)

Re: Silvia K's vs 02' Z06(black) FINALLY......... (Silviak93)

I'm sorry Silvia, but you're a flake!

I sure can't follow what the hell you're talking about, so what's the point?

Are you trying to say you've got a rice rocket that's a goer?

Get real . ....

Partition

Just thought I'd give kudos to RG and the 'Exit-28' crew.

I ordered one of the new partitions that 'Exit-28' started carrying, only to have it arrive damaged. I called Exit-28's toll free number...

Re: Do I have an Oil Burmer??? (01c5z06)

I've owned a few high performance machines (3 'vetts and a Boss 302), and all have used oil. One 'vette, a 1969 427 and the Boss were brand new. And, once again, all of them used some oil in...

Re: Flat tire (FLYNLO)

I pciked up a small nail in the passenger side front.

I noticed the tire was leaking while the car was parked in my garage.

The pump worked great (I didn't use the sealant goop). I was able to...

Re: Have you guys ever heard of this happening? (ZO6vettepilot)

I had a Boss 302 that broke the camshaft.

I believe it was due a lifter out of adjustment (solids) or perhaps a lifter froze in the bore . . . anyway, I believe the failure was more than likely...

Re: Tint on my Z should i take it off? (MrKool)

Hey, it's already on there . . . I believe here in California it's just a fix-it ticket . . . and on an already sinister looking black 'Z' it looks doubly cool.

I have a black 'Z' and after...

I've read that several have changed, and almost all have commented on how much smother the shifting was . . . I've got seven thousand miles on my 'Z' but haven't changed yet.

I have read where...

Re: whine in 5th gear? (SWCDuke)

I was on a poker run this past week-end with the River City Corvette Club from Sacramento, and the co-pilot wanted no music (probably a good thing), and I did notice some whine in 3 & 4 as I was...

Re: Radar Detectors (stocksure)

I've used the passport 8500 for several years with good success. I like the size and the display. The features let you set it up pretty much anyway you want.

For me, it doesn't matter much if...

Re: Just a little sympathy would be appreciated (jeffsherman)

Re: Sounds stupid but tranny noise finally.... (turbolou)

I was going to wait for the Hurst shifter, but it sounds like even they have a noise problem . . . anyway, I'm now pretty comfortable with the stock shifter and probably will stick with it. :)

Re: the fastest stock corvette (rbartick)

I didn't own a ZL1 (who did?), but I did own a 1969 427/435, and I can tell
ya that, even though it's been about 20 years since I last drove the '69, the ZO6 seems just as quick (if not quicker)...

Re: Confused about my radar i just bought. (Mario1235)

Mario,

I have the passport 8500 also. It's saved me many times. Most of the

with those automatic door openers).

Lots...
