Yes, on my C6 with A&A kit, I replaced the A/C tensioner from under the car. Make sure you replace both the A/C tensioner and the A/C belt. When the belt came off it stretched so replace it.

Why cover the vents? Road grime gets into the engine compartment, so I end up opening the rear hatch to wipe it down using the little amount of water that gets into the engine compartment.
