In a gear tooth or hole in flex plate, just be careful not to damage anything. Don't forget your Torque Converter weights around 40+ pounds, esp. with fluid in it.

I have a sensor that looks very similar to that, but on my drivers side. I believe it's the temp sensor for the temp gage, this is on my 87 though.
