I would call up a corvette restoration shop and ask them. Try calling Masterworks http://www.mwauto.com/ they did the fiberglass work and paint on my car, they did a top notch job.

Your stock 77 will be just fine with OEM style mounts. If you want it to fell more "rumbly" put the poly mounts in. No performance gains, but it will give you more engine feel.

I don't see how replacing the AC compressor would damage the engine, I run a non-factory compressor on my 377. Lots of people run the vintage air unit, I hear good things.
