Chevy dealer said the fact that my transmission works perfectly sometimes when you restart the car indicates that debri must be blocking some port when under pressure.

Just took my '87 to the Chevy dealer with the same symptoms... sometimes when you start it up it goes nowhere, and sometimes it goes right into gear and runs fine.

Will watch this thread closely...

Temp guage gone berzerk

My temp guage has gone crazy. It jumps from 150' to 225' and then back to 130' within 5-10 seconds. No air pockets in system and oil temp is normal.

I'll get a new sensor Monday, but thought...

Nearly $500 to fix

Dealer installed new hood latch cables, hardware, and release handle. $45 of the labor cost was for getting the hood open.

$210 in parts... the rest of the cost I chalk up to not having time to...

Hood stuck shut

My hood won't open! My best guess is that one of the hood release cables has snapped.

Any idea how to open the passenger side latch without the cable? Is there access through the fender well?

A '67 Mustang might be a better choice for my project since it can handle a big block someday, but I'll probably start with a Windsor.

Good point, but I've found 2 running, rust-free early v8 Mustangs in my area for around $3k each. Of course they will never handle as well as a vette, but my plan is to build a white Shelby GT350...

Well, the $6300 overseas deal fell through. Shipping costs were not bad, but then the buyer found out he would have to pay 85% in taxes!

Ordered an AC condensor that will go with the car.
