Have done this a few years ago on my 63. I know what you mean as "idler pulley". This bearing presses on or off. Bench vise can do the job easily. Use pipe same or close against face of old bearing...

As per previous posts, it should be clear to all that factory fit on body to doors was to put it mildly LOUSY! Those cars that you see with "perfect" gaps and fits have had some or extensive bodywork...
