Agreed - and this is what we did even to the ACI L88 - we stretched/smoothed/filled and flowed them even softer of a radius than they were from the standard install.

I've been doing flares...since my buddy Dave (TZ racer) talked me into it while building my original 69 aka "KILLER" - that later became Kaos and went to CIC for a re-do a number of years ago...

Yep...I'd plan on hitting a different dyno or dyno shop in the future though because having the car shift gears as well as not have the converter locked means you got totally unreliable...
