Try a slim jim. Your friendly local cop probably has one. I've never tried one, but they seem to work best on older cars.

Since the dash pad is out, I plan to zip tie the harness to the top of the firewall, set the speedo pad in place, then adjust the harness as neat as possible. God Bless Vette factory engineers!!

I learned (from experience) that you cannot put a regular chevy clutch and throwout bearing in a Corvette. The Vette uses a shorter throwout bearing.

The hubs are different. A couple vendors sell a kit(last I looked, Corvette Central sold a kit for $189. part # 563066.) It does not include a steering wheel.

It came with the short, flat TO bearing, so that's OK. I'll have to get a new pilot bushing, this one likes my magnet. Other than that, I'm good to go.

It came with a flat faced throwout bearing. I've never used a Borg& Beck clutch. I've had heavy clutches before, and would prefer a factory feel for daily use.
