They recently replaced my retractor springs on both sides. $120. Work like new oem now.
it helps they are near where I live.

I put a rachet & socket on the alternator pulley...

I put a rachet & socket on the alternator pulley nut and squeeze the belt together with my hands. Turns easily. That’s how I set the valve lash.

I purchased my heads unassembled. With springs valves locks from an aftermarket vendor. I assumed they were correct parts.
I learn a lot when things tear up.

I had the same situation happen to my dart heads 2 yrs ago. Broken inside dampeners, seals destroyed. I installed locators. New springs retainers locks. Kit from Howard’s cams.
