I found mine in the rear compartment, seemingly unused, when I bought my 80 8 years ago. I used it shortly later- only to be surprised by metal fatigue- the lug nut wrench bent! Never relied on it...

No modifications. Remove the 2 old heater hoses. Install the bypass hose with 2 clamps. Consider if you want to wrap part of the new hose with thermal wrap, as its 1/4 " away from the valve cover....

I have an 80, with a 200 4R and 3:31 rear gears- replacing the 3:08's. It runs good on the street; a lot more acceleration off the line; and about 2000 RPM at 70 MPH. I would not go any "higher"...

The EGR lowers NOX. Yours has to be functional, with or without yer heads, or you'll fail the tail pipe test.

You may want to pay for a "sample" test, before your data gets sent to Sacramento DMV
