and that tightened up everything

It turned out to be a faulty ground in the hei coil

I almost tore the car apart, phoned Gordon Kilebrew and he said try that
Fixed the issue right away

I was ready to remove the wiring harness and thought for all that trouble a quick call to Gordon was worth the $50

I had a similar problem on my 90
Spoke to Gordon Killebrew
He told me to check the ground on my HEI coil
Checked and found the ground wasn't good
Replaced coil, issue resolved
