Tires were damaged too. They may look OK, but I'll bet the steel belts were damaged. Especially if the hit damaged both wheels. My guess is turning right moves the CG and takes some load/pressure off...

As far as 5th Gen cars go... you only have 4 flavors. Coupe, Vert, FRC, and Z. As in all of the modern Generations the Coupe was released first, with the 'Vert and (FRC) Z hitting the production line...
