Back to the original question, this month's Top Gear estimates the GT500 will do 0-60 in 3 sec. The base C7 is unlikely to match that.

I think more importantly GM has to keep Corvette sales up. If 2013 rolls around and GM is still rolling out basically the same Corvette as they have been for years then sales will fall even further...

Actually the new Mustang GT leaps right over the LS3's 430 HP. It's underrated by Ford at 412 but dynoing at 450. Who cares, the 2011 Corvette has colored thread and a black eye paint option!
