Re: 84 vette vs 02 Eclipse (CLoNE)

Go ahead and race her. I have raced Supra's, 300ZX's, 5.0's, or anything else that lines up next to me. Sometimes I win, Sometimes I lose.

FWIW, I have raced a Eclipse and beat him. Not sure on...

Re: codes 33 & 44 ?'s I am pulling my hair out here! (hngacurv)

On '84 and '91-'94 or maybe up to '96, these models were equipped with a Manifold Aboslute Pressure sensor. From what I understand it monitors vacuum in the intake.

As far as the...

codes 33 & 44 ?'s I am pulling my hair out here!

This is where I am at so far.

Code 33 = MAP Sensor
Code 44 = Lean Exhaust, possible O2 sensor

The above is according to the Haynes shop manual. I have replaced both of these sensors, which...

Mine is about on it's way out. Looking thru MAD for a new one, all they have is the '85 and up. Is there a difference? Will a later model booster work on my '84? Aren't a '85 and '84 about the...

Re: new to C4 forum!! what do you guys think of 84's? (Ramanstud)

141K on the clock for me. My '84 is also my daily driver now. Doesn't smoke, burn oil, and still has plenty of power.

Good luck with what ever year model you buy.

Re: Installing aftermarket gauges on early C4's. (oldace84)

Nope. There is a problem in the cluster. I have it at the Chevy dealer for some repairs, and the tech told me that it would be cheaper and easier to install some aftermarket gauges.

I like the...

Installing aftermarket gauges on early C4's.

Who has done this, and what location did you use? I am gonna install a water temp and oil pressure gauge.

Any help from some one who has done this before, or anyone with a good idea for location,...

Re: Who knows what the "Anti-Lock" light is for on the DIC? (Wheelman)

On my pick up, 99 Dodge, it was a wheel speed sensor gone bad, when I got the "Anti-Lock" lite. The service tech told me it was the sensor that lets the computer know whether the wheel was turning...

Re: Question about towing a Vette (blk90rdstr)

I have had to have mine towed twice in the last 2 years, and each time I had it flatbedded. Wouldn't do it any other way.

Re: I love my vette again. Do you ever get away from your love? (medic007)

Because of work I haven't had time to do anything with mine either in almost 2 months. It just sits in the garage. The other day I cranked her up and let it run for about 10 minutes.

It is...

Re: (scorp508)

I had some pics of my dash at night but can't locate them. Any way here is a pic of a '84. The only year with this dash. It was changed in '85, to what Scorp's looks like. Notice the differance...

Re: what year C4's are the easiest to find? (Alchemist)

There were 51,000+ 1984 vettes produced for that "model year". It would seem that those would be the easiest to find, but around here very seldom do you run across one for sale.

The ones I run...

I know that had to hurt. I broke my right ankle a few years ago, and it hurt like hell.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

I've had mine for 1.5 years, and only clocked about 2000 miles on it. It has been almost 6 days since I last had her out last. :(

Re: parting out 1984 vette (polish41)

Glad I chimed in late on this one. I needed a brake booster. I feel bad for you guys who sent money, and have gotten nothing in return but excuses. Hope all works out.
