FWIW, my original sensors (2006 Z06) are still working fine (knock wood), after 16 years and 67,000 miles.
The batteries in my motorcycle sensors crapped out after 5 years, but were easily replaced...

I just R&R'd my OEM alternator last weekend. '06Z, 71,000 miles. I got a stinky, burning smell for a while, then the "Service Charging System" message, and voltmeter dropped to 10.

Easiest repair...

I too was out of warranty by time. Dealer flat out said he couldn't (wouldn't) do anything for me. Isn't anybody honorable anymore? Certainly seems rare.

I use a set of Rhino ramps...$30 bucks or so at Wal-Mart. Use a couple sections of 2x8 for ramp approaches.
No way to reach underneath unless lifted somehow.

I have not heard of any roof delamination problems on vehicles having a roof replacement via the recall. IIRC, before there was a recall, there was a "repair" procedure for the roof delamination....
