I believe this is going to be the issue. I ordered the new parts. Good news - when I turn the key the locking steering releases and I can turn the steering wheel. Thanks guys!

I'm putting in a Borgeson R&P steering in my '61. I have shorty headers and center engine frame mounts.

No, there is welding involved to connect to the frame. It's a complete front end with coil overs and disk brakes.

Be careful with all that motor. I just put a 383 in my '61 and promptly bent the leaf springs. The traction bars are coming next week! But what a great motor.
