Drivers airbag paint peeling 97 C5

Greetings Vetteheads.
The driver side airbag on my 97 C5 appears to have the 'paint' peeling off it. Looked pretty dingy and upon closer inspection it appears the paint or dye may be peeling off....

Well, the old 97 decided to take the morning off. She's an automatic. All instruments cycle thru the self check. 13 volts from battery. Security light goes off after key turned to run position....

The new blend doors I recieved externally look the same. Both 7 pin. But internally they're a little different. They are aftermarket. But the old one has an extra blue gear that seems to be missing...

Had 5 hvac codes- cleared them- could hear the doors in the dash moving, then all 5 codes came back. Now getting semi cool air driver side-hot air passenger side when ac set to 60.
