shifter flopping back and forth

2005, coupe, 4speed auto seems to be stuck in neutral. shifter moves freely but doesn't engage any gears. and it wont start because apparently its not in park even tho the shifter is in the park...

Had the same problem in my 05. went thru all the same diagnostics you guys did, dealer replaced some bracket under the steering column (recall) but to no avail....
