Thanks, I understand those. Much appreciated. Just to clarify the normal highway running temp is not a challenge it is the sitting in traffic spikes.

Howdy Kids Haven't been here in a while, been building my 73 VW beetle. I find with my 87 L98 the cooling fans don't don't come on until it hits (107C) 125F and cuts out at about 212 (100C). IMHO...

by far the most expensive item to concern yourself about is the rear wheel bearings and trailing arm bushings. You can drop a couple of thousand real fast in that area.

tranny issue

Don't take the trans out before you get it diagnosed. Once it is out it can't be run, if it can't be run it can't be diagnosed for the source of the leak. don't take the trans out.
