Re: 62 in Vette Magazine (kenmo)

I noticed that column, too. That sure is a pretty car he has! :yesnod:

Re: 62 front end, what is it worth? (1960fivette)

I'll bet Greg's story is common. I'll probably swap out my front end for a newer suspension in a few years and I might also be stuck with $100 offers for the original.

Remember also that the C1...

Re: Vote on color for 58 vette (hansenisu)

All right, somebody has to say it . . . my first choice is bright red! But like others here, that '58 shade of red is not my favorite. So if you're sticking with original '58 colors, I'd go with...

Re: Almost got car jacked! (Mecom Racer)

:iagree: Driving away is a much better option than risking starting a gun battle.

My wife and I were driving home from a Laker game on day one of the L.A. riots a decade ago. We hadn't watched...

Re: how to get more leg room in a C1????? (58Mike)

As Perryth mentioned, my firewall is moved forward about four inches. It was trickier than I expected, both in terms of the fiberglass work and modifying the pedals. My car's an automatic, so at...

Re: how to get more leg room in a C1????? (EVERGREEN)

FWIW, I bought my 15" steering wheel from Chuck Pelton (see above posts) and the quality is excellent. Also, there was a mixup on the color Chuck sent me maroon, but I needed red. Chuck had me...

Re: Fawn Fuelie? (c1dream)

Ed, I'd stick to red. No offense to any Fawn Beige owners (especially Charles Bernhardt, who's cars I love!) but I've never liked that color for a Corvette. Call me superficial, but it's just not...

Re: Thoughts about painting a new car a different color? (59er)

Ed, let's see here . . . 80 vans times $x,xxx equals not a bad little racket you got goin' there!

That's the information I needed. Thanks as always! I'll see what she thinks. Funny thing is...

Re: Thoughts about painting a new car a different color? (mrg)

Thanks, John, but she's set on the Prius. It's bigger and I think more powerful. Although on this website, I don't know if the word "powerful" can be used with these cars!

Another cool...

Re: (62fuelie)

We don't get the car for another two months, so the factory finish should still be perfect. It's good to hear that would make a good primer.

We don't care at all about the resale value.

If we...

Re: Thoughts about painting a new car a different color? (Nowhere Man)

I'd think so too, except Prius's are so back-ordered that if you want anything custom from the factory, they're giving a 2006 delivery date!

The car is a hybrid and has proven to be more popular...

Re: "Corvette Thunder, 50 Years of Corvette Racing, 1953-2003" (DZVette)

Mark, it's the weirdest coincidence, but I coached my son's soccer team last fall and one of the dads was a guy named Eric Dahlquist. He has something to do with Dick Guldstrand's company and was...

Thoughts about painting a new car a different color?

My wife is buying a Prius and she's not wild about any of the factory colors. She wants it to be yellow, along the lines of new Mustang yellow or even C5 Millenium Yellow. So we're considering...

62Fuelie's C1 Wiring article in Corvette Enthusiast

My apologies if this was already posted, but there's an excellent article about C1 wiring repairs in the April issue of Corvette Enthusiast. Then I noticed it was written by our very own Ed...

Re: Aftermarket front ends for C1? (Corz)

I'd check the archives from about a year back. Seems another company with a name something like "Total Cost Involved" had a less expensive setup, but my memory's a little hazy.

Re: I just got a bunch of wrong year interior, can any be used?Wanted 58 got 59-60 (Kyle69-71 BBs)

If your car is otherwise stock, I think I would get the correct '58 stuff, even if you have no plans for NCRS judging. The pebble grain is one of those quirks that make '58s cool, like the trunk...

Re: I just got a bunch of wrong year interior,can any be used?Wanted 58 got 59-60 (62fuelie)

I'll second what Ed said. :iagree:

I specifically ordered a '59 interior for my '58 because I like the '59-'60 shade of red better. But for the door panels, I had Al Knoch use '59-'60 fabric on...

Re: new personal best in the dumb azz move category - up in smoke... (2 Ag R8Cs)

If the nuts were loose and the guage could move around in the case, you might have developed a short if the two posts from the fuel guage contacted the case. If that happened, you might also have a...
