This is a Corvette C3 shift plate.
Automatic with Air conditioning.
Correct for a 1972- 1974 Corvette but may fit other years.
It seems to be reconditioned and in great shape

Yes, overall a C3 will be louder than a C4 because all the things mikep3 mentioned above.
I have both and the c4 is much quieter even with the louder exhaust.

How about tying a heavy tow strap from the T/A to the frame above it and then lifting the frame like usual and the T/A will hang down on the strap/cable/chain. Think it will work? I see a location...
