Do you have a radar detector wired into your rear view mirror? I do, but I don’t think it’s related to the problem. Just curious if you do, too. Might be a factor if we both have radar detectors...

If the battery is shorted, the jump woild be ineffective. At 3 1/2 years, I'd replace the battery. Even if it's not the problem, it's marginal for life and you ought to have a leakproof one anyway.
