I chased a vibration that ended up being the fuel door. Try driving with the fuel door open or stick a rag between the fuel door/body so it can't close all of the way and see if the noise goes away....

IIRC Jim Anderson and Gary Bosselman were working on an "original" exhaust system. You may want to contact them though the NCRS.
