If you can afford a C5 I would not hesitate getting one. I love my 92 but If I had $20k to spend I would get a low mileage C5. Unless you really have a thing for a C4 I'd get as new as you could...

Mine came out easy. Hitting on just one side can cause binding. Couple of raps to each side of the damper with a piece of wood and a 2lb hammer and it fell off.
