Could be alarm. If horns don't work won't hear the alarm. Try locking the doors, wait a minute or 2, then unlock using your key. Happened to me.

I had this problem once and it was the alarm. Do your horns work? Lock the doors with the power door lock then unlock with the key. This should reset the alarm, if it's that.

There is a nice piece of colored vinyl edging that gives a finished look to the carpeting on the door. It wraps around the edge of the door panel and is glued/stapled to the back side of the door...
