To me, 300HP is pretty anemic performance, compared to my 350 HP L79. I had both at the same time, and could feel the difference. An automatic would be worse....

I did my '65 with parts I purchased locally. You don't have to replace all the brake lines, but one must be lengthened and the distribution block will need a port plugged.
