Hang in there and stay positive. I am a six year survivor. They gave me 18 mo. back in '02. Hormone therapy has kept mine in check, plus I bought a corvette to give me something to do.

Fast idle

Idle speed on my '82 is 1200 to 1500 cold. Seems excessive. No problem in warmer weather of summer, 600/900. Do I have a problem?
