I too have been pondering the 268 and 272 cams for my all stock L-82
with headers and Weiand intake.
I especially need the low end since I have the 3.08 rear with the 4-speed.
Some day I'll get...

I'm so so mechanically inclined. I used the shop manual and Jim papers allot to replace my cancel switch on my 77 column. Didn't have many issues but a few swear words and beer breaks...

I'm going to try chokeless for a while. I live in semi desert conditions so cooler weather not much of an issue here. It is also my sunny day weekend cruiser.
Dec to Feb it takes a long winter nap.

What is the proper way to take off the choke of a Q-jet?
It cannot be as simple as just taking off the easy to get to parts and the carb can it?

Mine was.
Bubba :conehead had zip tied the flap at the end of the cable to keep the hot air from coming out the heater core.
I had replaced most of the heater...

Well its time to bring the Vette out of winter storage.
It has been sitting for 3 months. I want to change the oil.

Is changing oil cold like this a good idea after letting all the oil seep down...

I put a new one in to replace a totally failed...

I put a new one in to replace a totally failed old one and it reads about 1.5 times real RPM. I've learned to live with it as I'm not taking that dash out again just for that. What a pain!
