I would cut a ~.38" section from the timming marker and bond it back togeather. No need to chase around looking for the exact one imo.

Your problem reminds me of the inherent issue of, starter wont crank when it gets too hot. Exchange the starter if thats the case, new starters dont have that issue.

Yep, I had a mallory dual point , I never converted it to unilight , went MSD instead. The dual point was great but difficult to keep tuned. I heard the unilight was a great upgrade.

Im thinking, your using excellent top end components but you block is a major weak link. If you were to switch to a late style 383 block, you could discard the retro part of the assy. Just a thought..

GMPP division makes some top performance , especially the whole crate engines.
