Re: Do I really need two headlight vacuum relays? (Cookwithvette)

Yep, one will work, and maybe two are better just to ensure you have one headlight, if a relay fails.

Re: WTB Vortex goodies (stingraynick75)

It's Vortec, not Vortex...........Also note that you'll need a set of the self aligning rocker arms, and you'll have to convert to electric or manual choke carb. if you don't already have one.

Re: 81 engine make over... need suggestions (deftones1407)

The 624 heads on the '81 are a pretty thin casting, bad flowing smog head, and probably not worth throwing $400 into them. Suggest you look at purchase of other heads, and you don't need roller...

Re: Vaccum problems for headlights/trans on intake? (REDSHARKONBOYDS)

If you're running a Rochester Q-Jet, then you should be able to run vacuum off of the middle rear port at base of the carb., believe that's source of vacuum for power brakes.

Re: 1980 corvette heads (frosty80vette)

Stock '80 heads are the relatively thin cast iron #624, 'smog' heads which are prone to cracking if subjected to over heating of much magnitude.

I think the new Edelbrock aluminum 'vortec' type...

Re: Removing broken oil pressure elbow. (adam)

Good for you! Brass is soft, so usually comes out pretty easily.

Suggest you use a shop vac to suck up crud from around and in the hole.

Re: Stripped out screw holes in sheet metal? (killain)

Another possible solution is to fill the hole with JB Weld, let it dry thoroughly, then drill it out with small bit and you should be good to go, as long as you don't overtighten the fastner.
