I had same problem when I first got my car - lazy egr valve - genuine GM valve fixed it.

switch panel dingey/yellowing

My car is a 90 with FX3 and dual sport seats.

Hopefully, you can tell by the photo that the seat/shock switch panel is yellowing, particularly when you compare it to the driver's door panel.
