I prefer the bone stock Corvettes from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation. The FrakenVettes with all the bolt-on bobbles don't get a second look from me.

Your point is exactly why I refuse to bring my vet into the dealership unless absolutely necessary. They cut corners and half-step, and then charge the full labor amount according to the shop manual....

Agree 100% with removing the intake manifold method for all the reasons you mention. It gave me peace of mind that all risks were properly addressed.
