I am thinking of doing the gasket myself (I did the intake gasket before and it was successful for years). Head gasket has never been done, intake gasket has been done twice...

89 spare tire holder latch mechanism

Was unwinding down the spare tire thingy and it was rusted up a bit. Broke something in the upper part of it that keeps the thing from spinning while you crank it.

I have the GM Service Manual...

I had the same problem. Turned out to be TPS. Be careful backing the bolts out of the throttle body.
