You could also contact Craig Moates, In his ECM software he had disabled the 1k idle lock. He could probably tell you very easily where the address is and what to change the bit to.

Yes, handheld scanners will give the same info that a laptop will. The difference is that a laptop will display more data, usually all of it, on one screen.

13 knock counts isn't so bad as long as you aren't pulling lots of timing.
MAT looks ok, especially if it wasn't that hot outside....

They are a tad shorter than the injectors that came on the TPI engines. I'm running a set in my car and I machined down the mounting bosses for the rails about .070" to get a better fit.
