I tried octaine booster fron Autozone. It didn't change the way it ran and it put a rust colored coating on the sparkplugs. Never tried it again. Maybe different brands work better.

Seals can fail because of age or lack of lubrication. Denso seal kits are cheap and easy to install. With the proper refrigerant and oil you should be good for another 20 years.
