If your factory PKE is working as intended don't switch. It is a great system but you must read the owners manual to learn all of it's features. I wish all of my cars had it.

The problem is covered in the owners manual. But it is probably locked in the car.
Solution: Physically rock the car to "wake up" the key fob. Your doors will unlock automatically. :cheers:
