I put these pads on my highly modified 85 and they work incredibly well. On a stock 85, they'll be far better than stock pads. You cannot go wrong with Hawk pads.

If you can afford it, get a Dewitts. You can't go wrong. My 85 is highly modified, putting out 500 HP and TQ and my temps never get above 190 and I live in the hot part of FL.
