How come my 454 backfires for a few miles after it is back to work after a few weeks?

A few miles at WOT it starts to smooth down and to run properly...

As a side note, is NGK UR5 2771 too cold for a 400+ 454 engine?

Distributor is an E-curve you set max advance at idle and it is supposed to be at 36, but the guy who did it had an old pistol and I am afraid...

454 overheating problem...

Carbed 454 400+ hp with large alu rad and two electric vents has over heating problems, temp arrives to 210 after 30-40 min of running...

Could it be advance too retarded?
