Transmission RPM Problem

I have a '14 auto C7 with 10k miles. If I gun the engine on the freeway and have the RPM's increase from 1.5k to approx. 4-5k, when I release the peddle, the RPM's will sometimes stay at the 4-5k...

DO NOT skip the dual exhaust! If you want a performance car it should sound like one! I use it all the time and it turns heads, especially when downshifting. It is a must!

I've owned 3 C6's and as much as I thought GM should have originally set the up-shift on one side and down on the other, it will be difficult to un-train 9 years of shifting the same way...
