Oh really?

Obviously, you have never owned a lemon.

And...

As you list your occupation as a Warranty Administrator at Porsche of Huntington, what was Porsche's response?

Not a problem...

No squeaks or rattles of any significance in either the C6 or 997 that I noticed.

Oh really?

Yeah.... that reminds me of the time my pulley bolt blew on my C6 and took my engine with it on the track a few years ago......
You should have seen the oil all over the road....

Bash???

I am saying in my experience, my 997 C2S has had far fewer problems than my C6. The original post asked for opinions regarding the two cars, and I gave mine.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Take a look at some of the posts on this forum regarding the roof, engine, transmission, etc. issues, and the dealer and GM responses.
From those, and my own experience with GM and Chevrolet, I am...

Good points...

:iagree: Good points.
Given the alternatives, I will gladly drive the cars on the edge with issues as well.

I have no doubts that the chrome tail pipe tips involved in the 911 recall could be very damaging if they actually did fail. Porsche did the...

According to the article, after 2 reports of the problem, Porsche issued a recall.
How many C6 tops flew off before GM even acknowledged that there was a problem? For that matter, how many hundreds...

Yeah.. it's pretty serious..

Yeah, you are right. I would equate the danger of an exhaust tip breaking on a few 911's with the roof flying off a Corvette at high speed.
What do I know... I am a :troll with a few thousand posts...

Here's the deal....

Bottom line, buy what you like.
If you like driving a Chevy, buy a Chevy.
If you like driving a Porsche, buy a Porsche.
All the rest is commentary.

It was fun following you up and down the canyons!
I was behind you in the burgundy 997 C2S on the second part of the run.
