I'm right there with you too! I'm in year 7 of what was supposed to be a 3 year resto. The funny thing is, I used to give my father a hard time 'cause he spent 18 years restoring a '67 427.

Well, I would recommend Silverlake or Shadow Creek Ranch on the west side of Pearland. However, Hwy 288 is rather packed and depending on your commute time would probably take more than 30 minutes.
