It is a possibility this could be my problem, as when I slow down to a stop then the vacuum increases which may not be turning that pickup coil as it is supposed to, back to normal running condition....

could be an issue with voltage. I know the coil runs at a lower voltage with the resistance wire, and I do notice when I brake it tries to stall. Im thinking brake lights putting that extra load on...

I just replaced the metering block on the carb thinking it may be the power valve not holding vacuum, but the exact same problem came back. I do notice a funny exhaust smell when this problem...

Look at your grounds, everything is in reference to ground or bonding wire underneath at the rear of the car. Im not sure exact location, I would have to look at mine, but have a look around
