Re: Troubleshooting fans (vettes)

May be the temp sensor for the ECM. The ECM stills controls the fans even with the other sensor. On my '85 it is located at the front if the intake manifold. Definately the first place I'd look.

Re: Technical opinion on lower thermostat (vader86)

The thermostat only opens the engine to the radiator during warm-up. Has nothing to do with regulating the engine temp at WOT. Temp sensors trigger the fans to operate. This is what controls engine...

Re: Aux fans question... (Mr. G.)

You can use 10 ga. wire and a 50 amp. switch with no fuse. The way I did mine and never had a problem.

Re: help with problem... (mtg)

Take it to someone else! Plugs being fouled are a sign of another problem. I own a '85 so it is some what different from yours but I'd start with the opti-spark or maybe the 02 sensor. Could be alot...

Re: Rough idle (BBA)

If you haven't done so yet, I'd replace all the vacuum lines and boots on a car that is 11 years old. A small leak can really mess things up. About $20 worth of hose and fittings.

Re: gutted cats/cat delete (Justin1984)

A shop can't do this for you. Very illegal! The only way to gut your cats is do it yourself. On an '84 the cat has plates at each end with 4 bolt holes. If yours is welded , it is not origional.
